Final Touches before the Wedding Party Arrives - 2011
Remembering back to all the homemade birthday cakes my mom made over the years for my twin sister and me, as well as our older brother, I guess I've always enjoyed cake decorating.
When I got a little older I was able to help decorate my own cakes. It wasn't until I learned of a friend of my husbands who was teaching the Wilton Cake courses, that I decided to try honing some of my skills and techniques. I remember starting out thinking, 'How did I go so long without knowing this stuff?' With every class I came home with more information and eagerness to start trying new things.
When I took the second place prize in a zucchini bake off at the local Market Garden, I started taking my craft a little more seriously. Over the past two years I have taken on everything from basic sheet cakes and cupcakes, to personalized sculpted works of edible art. I have learned so much and continue to push myself beyond my comfort zone. The sky is the limit and I can't wait to see where my next order takes me!
I am looking forward to hearing from you all and helping design a cake for your event or celebration.
All of the Cakes, Cupcakes, and Treats photos have been taken by my wonderful husband, Clint. You can see more of his his work at
